Alberto I della Scala commissioned this grandiose family palace in 1285. It had a portico and garden, which extended into the area now known as “Cortile del Tribunale”. It was recently re-opened to public access after a major restoration project and is today one of the city’s finest squares. The middle of the courtyard and the east side of the paving have two large “portholes” revealing glimpses of Roman Verona.
